ppi. wasnt in employment, help please

hi, my partner is claiming back his ppi. we were going through the paperwork today-we have had original copy sent.The box for ppi is simply a tick box with yes or no, no real details are listed beside it, anyway, he had the yes box ticked.HOWEVER on closer inspection we looked at the date and during this period he was doing voluntary UNPAID work. Does this make a difference? does anyone think he will get the money back and finally how will we prove(if necessary)that he wasnt working then?
any advice is really appreciated here,
just seen we need terms and conditions of policy, they did not send this, will we have to send the £10 for the full details?

i dont know, we weren't together then, i'm assuming this could be part of the mis-selling, it was completed in branch.there is nothing on the application to say you need to be employed if you see where i'm coming fromlet he without sin cast the first stone0
