PPI Claim - Should I Use An Agency?

I've looked back through my financial records and I have had 4 credit cards, 1 store card and 4 loans.I don't know if all of them have PPI but I know that one of the loans did for definite as they told me that it would only be approved if I had it.
Seeing as I don't know if all of them have PPI, some of them are now owned by different companies (Egg, House Of Fraser Storecard) and I don't have the account numbers for all of them, would I be better to use an agency rather than do it myself?
Any opinions and comments would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Shaun

Hi Shaun
I think you would really benefit if you use an agency to sort out your PPI Claim. They will be able to inform you better on how much you can actually claim. A few of agencies you can contact are:
Reclaim My Fees
(they specifically deal with PPI)
Lloyd Anderson Financial Management Group
There are many more, but you need to be sure that they wont charge you any additional amount. I know friends who have dealt with the above two, hence referred them to you.
Best of luck

please try not to use any of the agencies, they eat up your money with fees and VAT. have a read through the letter templates on this forum and give it a go yourself. i was in a similar position to you and had no account numbers but i simply either wrote to the card companies and banks or gave them a ring stating i wanted to place a complaint about being mis sold ppi. i gave them as much details as possible and they have all given me the relevant info backso far i have got back £1,600. i have seen some letters sent by these agencies and some are quite nasty so probably do more harm than good0

Claims companies would still need you to find out the information. All a claims company does is post a template letter (often with inaccurate or even fraudulent reasons) to the companies you tell them using the details you supply.
However, thinking about this more, this thread smells of spam. First post from a new sign up asking about claims companies. Second post 20 minutes later from a new sign up telling you that you would benefit from a claims company and actually names one. Yet this board is almost universally against the use of claims companies.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0 -
I can honestly say I've got nothing to do with any claims companies. I haven't posted on here before because I've never needed to, I just thought that some people might have been in the same position as me and me be able to give me advice.
I don't want to have to give away any money to an agency unless I have to but I thought I might get brushed off by the bank a lot easier than an agency as I don't know what the banks do or don't have to provide me.0
