Which European Breakdown with recovery for boat

I filled out the online form on the 16th and have yet to receive a reply. That was Friday so I'll give them until Friday to get back to me. I'm not really prepared to phone them until they've answered the questions about recovery, especially if I'm going to get passed around different operators while paying for a long distance call!0

I've been having problems with contacting ADAC as well - I emailed them two weeks ago re: renewal payment with UK credit card using adac@adac.de. No reply. Three days later tried using there contact form. Nothing. Then contact form again. Nothing.
So my 6th email from last night was a "missile" to Dr. Karl Obermair (karl dot obermair at adac dot de) their director for Membership, transport, tourism, publishing and club services. Needless to say received a reply answering all my original questions first thing in the morning.
The email address that the reply came from is mitgliederservice@adac.de
Anyway, they have clarified their slightly confusing €200 towing rule - it is definitely €200 for towing only to the nearest garage, and then transport home should they be unable to fix it, throughout the EU. So very similar to the AA Relay UK service (except for the AA will take your car anywhere, and the ADAC will take it home). Not bad for £66 a year.If the covered vehicle is immobilised following a breakdown or accident or has been stolen, we offer the following benefits:
- Breakdown and accident assistance (§ 23)
- Assistance with lost or defective car keys (§ 24)
- Towing up to 200 € (§ 25)
- Vehicle off-road recovery (§ 26)
- Accommodation costs following immobilisation of vehicle (§ 27)
- Transfers following immobilisation of vehicle (§ 28)
- Travel expenses following immobilisation of vehicle (§ 29)
- Vehicle transport (§ 30)
- Pick-up service (§ 31)
- Spare parts dispatch (§ 32) (not in Germany)
- Customs clearance and scrapping of vehicle (§ 33) (not in Germany)
According to § 30 of the terms and conditions for the ADACPlusMembership, the covered vehicle will be transported to the member's place of residence by an ADAC contractor if it is immobilised following a breakdown or accident and
a) the damage has been confirmed by a workshop;
b) the car is not a total loss according to § 1 no. 2;
c) if, in the case of an incident in Germany, the covered vehicle
is still immobilised on the day after the incident;
d) if, in the case of an incident abroad, the covered vehicle is so severely damaged that it cannot be repaired within 3 working days within 50km from the place of the incident and a spare parts dispatch according to § 32 is not sufficient.
According to § 1 no. 2, a total loss is given if the repair costs exceed the vehicle's replacement value in Germany on the day of the incident.
The replacement value is determined by ADAC on the basis of Germany-wide generally accepted car rating systems prior to rendering any services.
If the damaged car is a vintage car, we use the vintage car list. Should the vehicle not be included in the vintage car list, you can prove the replacement value with an expert opinion on the vehicle's current market value."Retail is for suckers"

I'm still tempted to join ADAC for eu recovery, (if anyone there wants me to)
Still probably need to join the AA for uk recovery though.
Even if ADAC pay up to 200 euros for towing, I don't want to have the car recovered to a garage local to the breakdown, wait a day for them to fix it, and pay whatever the local garage charge. Or wait the day while the local garage decide it can't be fixed, then eventually get the car recovered home.
What I really want is the car home immediately, so I can fix it at trade, or to the garage local to me, and they'll sort it out with me.
In the eu I'd hire a car for the three days they give them to fix it, and I'd probably expect to pay to get the car fixed local to the breakdown anyway, so I won't be losing anything more with ADAC than the AA.
I'll have to see if they want me though, no joy so far.0 -
That's the issue.
I don't want the car fixed at a garage in the middle of nowhere, for an inflated price.
If it can't be fixed at the roadside, I want it recovered home
I think you will find if the AA can arrange a "prompt local repair" you are not entitled to recovery, I would imagine other breakdown companies use this clause as wellANURADHA KOIRALA ??? go on throw it in google.0 -

Never had that.
If I can't fix it by the side of the road, the AA couldn't, and they have alway recovered me home. Never insisted on a prompt local repair.
So far, head gasket, and a ruptured fuel line.
They don't define what it means in their t&c's.
ADAC's 24 hours isn't prompt to me, my definition would be faster or at least equal to the time it takes to recover me home, not involving an overnight stop in a hotel and losing a days pay.0 -
The AA Ltd. have new T&C's - prompt repair at a local garage of their choice first."Retail is for suckers"

With what I said about the AA in the post above, and the actual phrase is
"Recovery to any single UK destination of your choice if the AA is unable to fix your car at the roadside or arrange a prompt local repair"
So, not their first choice, just a reasonable option.
The AA have been fine so far, I've had no difficulty with recovery.
But then I don't get them out to blown sidelight bulbs.
And the AA's t&c's aren't new, they're at least a year now.
It was in at least the 2010 t&c's as well.0
