To claim or not to claim? Abby/Santander

Hello all

I had a loan in 2003 but can't remember if I had PPI on it or not. All I know about the loan is the start and end date, how much it was for and the last four digits of the policy number.

Can I make a claim even if I don't know if I had PPI or indeed if it was mis-sold? Feels very cheeky! :rotfl:

Thanks

It is up to you to decide your morals.

However, the complaint is not about whether you have PPI or not. It was whether it was mis-sold to you or set up incorrectly. You can have PPI and not be mis-sold.

Can I still contact Abby without even knowing policy details other than what I stated above?

You can ask if you had PPI on that loan. If they ask you whether you agreed to it or knew about it you can then say - I will let you lot know later.

Then when you know what it was Etc. You could go ahead. Keep in mind that you can have PPI and not be mis-sold it.

If youre asking whether you can enquire about that previous loan only on the information you have, well, they have a varied security system in place. I dont know whether you will or not qualify to discuss.

Do you have a bank account with them?
In which case, ring up tel banking and get verified through that first, then say you want to discuss loans. If you say you want to discuss loans FIRST before getting verified on your bank account, security procedures may vary i dont know.

No I don't have a bank account with Abby/Santander, but I did have a mortgage with them at the time. Actually, I'm wondering if I had a PPI with my mortgage as well as my loan. Hmmmm.

No you are sounding like a chancer wanting to make a fraudulent complaint.

It is quite possible, after all this time, that the data has been destroyed - in which case there will be no evidence either way and your complaint must fail.

No I'm not a fraudulant chancer I was just thinking out loud. I will dig out what information I have and go from there.
