Hubby and I are going to a concert in the MEN Arena in April. Arriving on a Thursday for the concert that night, then staying until Sunday morning so we've got all day Friday & Saturday to explore. Never seen anything of Manchester except a football match at Old Trafford, so any suggestions of where to go/what to see, in or around the city would be welcome.
PS, I will be 5 months pregnant, so nothing too strenuous please! And not bothered about shopping, once you've seen one NEXT/M&S/Debenhams you've seen them all.

Visit Trafford Centre for sure. Worth checking out the Royal Exchange, the Triangle, The Printworks and the Urbis museum, they're all pretty near each other. Maybe the Northern Quarter and Afflecks palace too. The Lowry and Imperial War museum North are worth a visit too!2p off is still 2p off!0

if you both don't mind football could hop on a train to Preston and see the National Football Museum, free entry so only train tickets to pay for and isn't too far to get to from manchester for a morning0

There is also the big wheel thing in the Exchange Square, near the triangle and printworks.
Also try the curry mile, but if you fancy a curry go to Nawaab on Stockport Roda, all you can eat for £10 and the choice is endless and the food is very decent, one of the few curry places where you will see a lot of Asian people!
You could also hang about the food court in the Arndale centre and observe the Greater Manchester public!2p off is still 2p off!0

The big wheel thing has gone- but there's still lots to do in Manchester.
I think the shops in the city centre are better than the Trafford Centre.
As well as Urbis etc the City Art Gallery is worth a visit.0

I'd do Afleks if you can manage the stairs, browse round the Royal Exchange and surrounding areas, some good pubs for your OH, no wheel there when I was there last week.0

            Cow parade went last October.
The Museum of Science and Industry is great but tiring. Urbis is good and fairly small - not so tiring.
As mentioned earleir the City Art gallery is worth a visit, and if you want to see some decent football, the reebok stadium is just 25 minutes by train0

you'll only see "decent" football at the Reebok if united are playing there 0 0
