Help required please!!

I recently wrote a letter to Halifax with regards to mis-sold ppi. They informed me that as I couldn't provide my account number there was no reason to investigate the complaint further.

Can anyone advise how I can obtain my original account number?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I would have thought it would be easy enough for them to find my details or perhaps they're trying to be awkward?

Cheers

Yes they are probably being awkward, and it is probably easy for them to find your details but you may have to SAR them to get them, it costs a one off fee of £10, then they have to supply you with all the records they hold on you within 40 days. No guarantee though but if within 6 years something should be forthcoming ;)

Generally speaking, Halifax seems to be upholding anything when it identifies that there was PPI - whether or not the complaint is justified.

So I think they probably do not have them any more - or at least not in a filing system that allows them to trace your details from the information you have provided.

That is going to remain the case if you spend £10 on a data subject access request.

  • Thanks for all your help, I have one last avenue to try to get hold of my account number. If that fails I will weigh up my options again. Thanks for all the advice
