How Much Do I Sell My Website For??

Hi,
I used to buy websites to then work on the SEO (Search Engine Optimisation) and try to get the page rank as high as possible.
I then stopped doing this, and one of my websites was dormant anyway as I didn't use it at all. I originally bought the domain name back in May 2010, and it is due to expire in May 2012. The domain name is a .co.uk one which refers to plumbers in Putney.
Out of the blue I got a phone call from a man asking about buying it for his business (today) which was totally unexpected.
Since I have not used it and there is nothing on it I am not sure what the domain name is worth. I was going to let it expire and then not renew it.
This man who called me is going to make an offer for the website, and I don't really know what I should accept (how much or how little. I don't want to rip him off and neither do I want to be ripped off.
I have tried putting the domain name into domain value checking websites, and they keep coming up with value £0 (probably because I don;t use it.
However when I called 123 reg today, they said that they can't really give me an idea what it is worth, but said it could be worth £200, just as a complete guess.
Looking at both sides of the coin...my side and buyers side...what would you sell it for???
Thanks,
Peter

If you were going to let it go and get nothing for it, then i'd just ask the guy to make an offer and accept it. Something is better than nothing.Liverpool is one of the wonders of Britain,
What it may grow to in time, I know not what.

It depends on your ethics. If someone wants it, it is obviously worth something to that person. How do you value a domain? Well, a dishonourable cyber-squatter once said to me:The domain may be worth a fortune, but you probably only paid under a tenner for it. If it gets ugly and the buyer files a dispute with NOMINET and their case is OK, they will get it. To open a case with NOMINET will cost them £750.00 + vat for a full decision so price it under that.
I stress that I am not an expert or a lawyer - so make your own mind up, I'm just sharing a view given to me by someone that I had to deal with during a domain dispute for a customer.0 -

Laugh if the caller is on this site haha!
Someone mentioned about where it comes in the search. Do this and report back.0 -
To be honest, if the plumber guy wants it and it is not like my family name (and the owner of the web site with that name has not been around as long as our family) Tell him ok I have had it for x years and it cost me x times £8 per year (substitute 8 for real cost) so I will sell it for that plus 100% and 5 years worth of free links to your own best site on every page they have.4.8kWp 12x400W Longhi 9.6 kWh battery Giv-hy 5.0 Inverter, WSW facing Essex . Is there any significant residual traffic to the domain?
Have you done your research into keywords -v- the domain?
Anything is only worth what someone is willing to pay. Given you already have a prospective buyer ask them what they are willing to pay for it.
Personally, made very little money from trading domain names, most sell for sub £100. The only exception was one which got into a bidding war between two arch rivals. Even my 4 letter .co.uk domain that I have and put up for sale got very little interest.0 -
In my experience of buying domains for a big financial institution people will charge thousands and thousands... so long as they think the person asking has enough money to pay it and will be stupid enough not to simply get an alternate domain.
If you are not in the business of selling domains for profit then just accept the guys offer, you'll be helping his business and making some unexpected extra cash.0 -
We paid around £200 to get a domain off someone who wasn't using it0

have sold many domains for up to £500 in past, if you have website to sell as well .would increase value.say ask £750 and be prepared to drop if desparate to sell, some domains increase in value with age, have many ''ticking over'' and used as email address for family saves long typeing for emails if you have a simple x@xxxx.co.uk0

How about you agree to swap it for a day's worth of plumbing services? Costs him less (effectively free), bonus for you worth £200-ish?0
