Barclaycard - new T&C re CPA's

I know there is another thread about the amended terms and conditions from Barclaycard but I thought this deserved its own thread.
From the end of May you will apparently be able to stop recurring transactions and they will even refund any payments that you may not have authorised or forgotten about.
Details:How you can authorise payments (Condition 15)

250212_bullet.gifCondition 15.1: We've made a minor change to the way we describe how transactions are authorised. It doesn't change the ways in which you can authorise transactions.250212_bullet.gifCondition 15.2: We've updated this condition to explain if you want to withdraw your consent to future recurring transactions, you can now tell us. We still recommend you contact the retailer first because they initiate the transactions. If transactions are still processed we'll refund them, together with associated interest and charges.

That should help a lot on here!:T

I wonder how this will be compatible with the visa/mastercard networks. Or do CCs always have the discretion to decline a cardholder-not-present transaction and they are using that??

I don't think you've interpreted the change in t&cs completely accurately.

The new condition says that you can cancel recurring transactions before they are charged. It doesn't say that you can get a refund on a transaction that has already happened, because you forgot you had set it up.

If a transaction appears that you have not authorised, you should always get that refunded anyway. This change in conditions does not affect that.

I read it as transactions going forward, e.g their mistake
Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.

Condition 15.2 is clear enough to me.
