The website was only created on the 12th of July last year.

    http://whois.domaintools.com/iteamsupport.co.uk

The parent company of iTeamSupport is Learning For You Ltd.. For the accounting period to 30/09/2010 they had £2 in the bank and a net worth of £376.

    http://companycheck.co.uk/company/04294861

Learning For You also has its own website where, surprise surprise, they're also offering training courses with a guaranteed job at the end of it. This 'job' is only for 4 weeks, they don't say how many hours it's for or what the pay is.

    http://www.learningforyou.co.uk/WorkExperience.aspx

I'm thinking that THAT is the guaranteed job particularly as the link at the bottom of that webpage goes to iTeamsupport's website. There's nothing on either of the sites to indicate where these jobs are. There don't appear to be any testimonials from successful candidates either. I'd have thought there would be if it was so good.

I've had a good look on Google [TEXT DELETED BY FORUM TEAM]

Response posted on behalf of iteamsupport:

Learning For You DO NOT a offer JOB Guarantee, We only offer Work Experience with iTeamSupport for 4 weeks to help complement their certification training

iTeamSupport offer their own Employment program for candidates wishing to work for iTeamSupport directly as a IT Girl or City Angel, which are brands of iTeamSupport as a Microsoft Technical Service Desk Advisor http://www.iteamsupport.co.uk/Career.aspx . Learning For You assistance candidtates into employment as a value added service http://www.learningforyou.co.uk/Jobs.aspx

We do have testimonials from candidates

Lol agree with above poster who said to avoid the below post because of how badly it was worded. For some reason their post has been removed.

First of all, if you want a career in IT, what qualifications do you have in IT? If any? (Not that you need any)
2ndly, do you have any idea where you would like to progress to within IT?
Search for QA. I think theyre a decent company who offer the same.

I've been telling myself that for years and applying for various IT jobs. Despite that I've only had ONE interview (and that was box ticking - fixed in favour of those with a degree). In the IT world today there are so many qualified staff out there that employers can pick anyone they want without looking at unqualified people.

You know its an old thread.

Since the beginning of history itself people have dragged up old topics I guess this is just the same :)

Not true i'm afraid - We've been looking for new staff for nearly a year, and it's a pretty rural area, so we've only found one competent enough, and even that was a risk. We've actually turned down the ones with degrees who couldn't even get basic questions right.

The best way to get yourself into the industry is just play about with it yourself. I've got a C at GCSE in IT, i played about with all aspects of IT for 4-5 years after i got that, as a hobby until i decided to try and get into the industry, first application i sent off got me an interview, and the job, lost that job through redundancy, and second application landed me a second job.

The biggest pointer is to word your applications as if you have a true passion for it and make sure you know enough to answer any question they throw at you, and don't be afraid to be honest if you're not sure. Also a knowledge across the board does wonders, my skillset ranges from networking and hardware to software testing, a little coding, SQL and various OS's. People in the industry tend to either be hardware or software, not both, so when you have both, that's a huge bonus.

I've been at it for 11 years. I pretty much have a datacentre under the stairs, am into hardware and software (networking, hardware, fault finding, programming etc) yet it gets me no interviews at all. I did / do work on a council website as a sub for another webmaster too yet I have never got a foot in the door anywhere.

While I have limited experience with *nix systems, I have been into almost every aspect of IT for years and was once a webmaster for a socket component set too. It still hasn't done me any favours :(

I've pretty much given up now.

I guess it depends how high you're aiming as a starting point. My first proper full time job was as a tester and customer liasion. I guess my other advice is to aim low-ish if you don't have the qualifications, if you know what you're talking about, you can progress fairly quickly, however i guess if its a pay cut it might not be worth it sometimes.

Trouble with my company is that my understanding of a First Line Tech is that you take the calls and usually read the general "have you tried this, have you tried that" and most places around me offer 18k a year minimum for that. We only pay 15k for 'First Line' despite once you get into the swing of things, its more first and second line most of the time.

If you applied for the company i work out, from the sounds of your skillset, and you were out of work/not interested in pay levels and looking for a foothold in the industry, as i was at the time and our latest recruit, you'd easily be offered an interview.

90% of applicants are people with basic Email and Office skills but not much else.

Heh, I've applied for LOADS of first line jobs. Never heard from any except the one I had the 'fixed' interview for. To be honest it might just be the area as it's always employment agencies advertising and they just seem to be using the same ads as bait every other week.

Has anyone had a recent (2014) experience with this organisation?

I have an interview with them on Friday, after reading about them on the Internet I'm not so sure if I'll bother to turn up, if it's just going to be a waste of my time.

I have had an email conversation with [TEXT REMOVED BY FORUM TEAM] who has avoided confirming that they will ask me for money.

Maybe I should have let you know I wasn't going to turn up but you didn't get back to me.

If you were more honest in the way you are selling it I'm sure people would trust the product.

Does your package include any form of recruitment agency?

Mctip has been withdrawn so what qualification do you now require/charge for training for?

A 4 week placement might be useful. Would I be able to study around my current job?

Btw your home page suggests you pay (as of yesterday).

All I can find is posts by people who have had a bad experience with you.. Care to change that?

I am sure you are aware of my forum post, we await your response.

    Thank you.
