First Post First Anniversary Combo Breaker
I have been running MacAfee Security Centre on my pc for about six months with no problems, it came free so I'm happy to use it until it expires. However, since the last MacAfee update web surfing has become really slow (far too slow to be bearable IMO). I think it is the Phishing Filter which is slowing things down because when I switch it off things zip along as before.
If I were to leave the filter disabled permanently and I leaving myself open to all sorts of nasties or is the increased surfing speed worth the reduced security.

Which browser are you using? Both IE7 and Firefox 2 have anti-phishing filters built in, you could try using one of those instead to see if it is quicker.
It's my problem, it's my problem
If I feel the need to hide
And it's my problem if I have no friends
And feel I want to die

The best protection against phishing is really to ensure that you only log onto important sites by typing the URL and never from an email link.
I found the phishing filter in IE7 slowed things down intolerably!
