Voip phone line and postal address costs comparison

Options
Hello :j

I would like some advice please regarding small business VOIP lines and a mail forwarding company or business address providers .
I will not get a lot of calls as I'm starting a online business .

Skype don't offer a phone number for my local area , previous posts have suggested vonage.co.uk but it cost £6 a month after the 1st 3 months.

I've found a website called phone-numbers-uk that seems to offer an online number for under £2 a month .
Does anyone have any expereince of this company ?
or have you found a cheaper deal ?
Thank You ! :)

I have no idea what it means and have tried changing amending the info , wont work

    Any other suggestions please

We use Voipfone and they are £2+vat for geographic numbers.

Previously tried cheaper companies but had lots of call issues. Voipfone was only a little more expensive and the only time we had problems we had the same problem with out BT fallback line and so evidently the problem was more or less universal (turned out a transatlantic cable bundle had been damaged)
  • If you get a number with voiphone what happens if you ever want to leave the service? Do you get to keep the number?

I'm just trying to figure out which service would be best for either an 0800/0845 number (I'm undecided). I'd probably divert to a mobile.

Also interested in an inexpensive mailing address like the op. I thought I'd found a really well priced one, but reading some comments online I think it is a bit of a scam. Does anyone know any really inexpensive mailing addresses? Thanks.

I havent tried to move a number from them but have ported numbers to them which was fine.

From what I understand you'd need a new supplier and contact them, your new supplier charges you a fee and deals with it all. I ported mine from BT to them and was done fairly quickly.

Do you specifically have to have a number for your local area? I must admit that I use Skype and don't have a problem at all.

If using Voip for business use then you really want to avoid companies like skype and sipgate. Your going to need a reliable high quaity provider and one that offers you protection, i recommend Voipfone. Excellent service and call quality!

Voipfone are members of itspa which give you some protection, you can port numbers in and out of voipfone and even if they were to go bust and im not saying they will but many voip companies do being members of itspa give you protection to keep your number(s) ;)
