    You could try Alder trees. they grow quickly yet stay fairly small. they are also good if the soil is poor or unfertilised as their roots are particularly efficient at fixing nitrogen.

    If you are after cheap options this means that little ones can often be pulled up from laybys or abandoned land as they are one of the first tree species to move in
