Income Protection and Probationary Periods - Can I Claim?

Hi
From the sudden pressure being put on it looks like I'm not going to pass my 6 month probationary period (the 4th new starter to suffer the same fate recently). Does anyone know whether Barclays Income Protection pays out in such a circumstance? The wording isn't that clear on the policy.
The reason for not passing the probationary is likely to be along the lines of not achieving the standards required so nothing related to disciplinaries or anything like that.
Any help would be appreciated so I can decide whether to hold out and be 'fired' in a few weeks and claim on my policy, or to resign first if I can't claim and hope that plays better with a new employer.
Thanks
James

Presumably your policy is an ASU product?
You will need to read the terms on continuous employment, etc to see if you will be covered or not. Certainly some would cover you if there was no break between your last job and this one but not all.0 -
I'm no expert but I thought usually ASU's only pay out for redundancies, not if you resign or get 'fired' or even voluntary redundancy.0
