was I dreaming?

I finally received an offer on my property last week. They were supposed to contact the EA with their solicitor's details but since putting in the offer (half hour after viewing property cos they were soooo keen) they have now gone quiet.

The EA can't get any replies to the voice messages or emails.

Does this happen much? They seemed genuine and very keen. How long is reasonable for the EA to keep chasing? This is just added stress I could do without (its taken 5 months to get this decent offer)

  • Mmm, well there could be a perfectly reasonable explanation. BUT it does sound like they may have cold feet, if your EA can't get in touch after trying for what a whole week I would be inclined to put the property back on the market.

Speak to your EA and see what they have to say.

    Good luck!
  • Cold feet sounds likely, and if this is the case, then also no scruples or ability to think about other peoples situations.

I would ask the EA to leave a message that if they do not get things moving by X date (Friday for example) then it is back on the market - you snooze, you lose etc etc

  • update - just found out that the wife has been in hospital so they were full of big apologies for not returning the EA calls etc but they are still desperately keen on the house.

I await the next stage with baited breath (and will keep allowing viewings until I feel confident that the sale will proceed)
