How old can a ppi claim be?

I tried to claim PPI from nationwide a couple of years back for loan 8 took out in 95/96 .I clearly remember being told if I didn't,t take PPI I wouldn't get loan.i did write and was told loan too old to be dealt with and this was their final decision .Now is it worth trying again with all the new info that is out or not as I have tried before.thanks Boppy0

She was wrong.
The FSA have reminded the banks that where they find trends that they should be pro-active. Same advice as last year and that which has been in place for many years. There is no indication that the banks (as a collective) are going to do this. Some no doubt will, others may be told to.

I received a letter from RBS, rejecting my claim for PPI in September 2010. Unfortunately, due to moving house several times, I lost the letter. Following the recent Judicial Review I made a new complaint in July 2011 as I still believed I was missold PPI. The bank wrote back to say that the case had been closed and they would not take any further action.
I have called them to ask for a copy to the decision / rejection letter they sent me in 2010 and they have asked for a £50.00 admin fee....
Is this a fair amount as I have been told that a Subject Access Request costs only £10.00...?:o0 -

When you create work then they are allowed to charge an admin fee for it. The DSAR isnt a way around administration charges. it can get you a lot but it wont get you everything.
The Judicial review outcome would have had no impact on your complaint. The banks wanted to stop the FSA moving the goal posts and retrospectively applying rules that did not exist in the past and therefore eliminate a good proportion of people from making complaints. They lost and couldnt bar people from complaint. It had no impact on people who had made complaints and been rejected for other reasons.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
