Confused with life assurance

Help! What cover do I need? Rang someone and now I'm mega confused.
I'm 30 in June
Married
No children yet
No mortgage - we live in a private school (Will have a mortgage and (fingers crossed) a child in 2 years time)
15000 debt being paid off at a quick rate (DFD Jun 09)
Healthy non-smoker
What type of cover would I need? What term? Critical illness etc?
Would love to hear from you all.

Can't believe there is no one out there on MSE that can help me - you are all usually so good at it.

Life insurance for you, basic term insurance, would be very cheap provided you are in good health. Check up on https://www.cavendishonline.co.uk I suspect you would get £100,000 for less than £15/month. If you wanted criticial illness cover and/or family income benefit, it will cost you more. It depends on what you feel (and your other half) need at the moment if the worse happened. You could just simply take out some straight forward level term cover for now and then reassess once you get your mortgage and start a family. The price of a 25 year policy will not necessarily rise that much in the next 5 years for you, all things being equal.0

Many thanks to you - will go and look now - basically I want something that would cover my debts if the worst should ever happen so my husband isn't stung with them.
Thanks for your help x:T

you can get £60000 from direct line, £6 per month for basic term life, and if you go through quidco £85 back and a free night at a hotel too or n/union £45 back and £15 m&s vouchers after your 3rd monthly payment .......:dance::dance::dance::dance::dance::dance:0
