Looking for a central hotel in Barcelona for 3 nights 2 adults-max £250

Anyone got any tips

Have you tried Hotels Comparison? My friend used them for Dublin and Florence and got a good deal each time. They trawl through different "agents" (eg Octopus etc etc).

For reviews of hotels try Trip Advisor, which has listed MOST hotels in most cities. The reviews are written by independent travellers.

When I went to Barcelona, a few years ago now, we stayed in cheap pensions just off La Ramblas, which was an ok part of town. There were a few nice looking hotels actually on La Ramblas and plenty of lovely restaurants and tapas bars.

There are sister hotels on La Ramblas, the most central part.
Hotel Continental and Hotel Continental Palacete. They have free all-day buffets which are superb and their rates are excellent. I paid 90 euros per night.

Try https://www.hostelopera.com/ nice on suite clean rooms @58 euros per night per D/room right on the Ramblas.Have a great time.

We used this website http://www.avantgardehotels.com
and got 3 nights for £220, on feb 4th - 7th ATRIUM PALACE its really nice, well plush, its about 50 second walk from the main square (placa catalunya). It also has free internet access so you can keep your eye on MSE, HA HA.

Try Hotel Banys Orientals https://www.hotelbanysorientals.com its a modern hotel set in an old building in the born area of barcelona, which is within walking distance of las ramblas and alot of other sites. I have stayed there a couple of times and would recommend it, they have a year round fixed price of 90 euros per double room, the only down side is that you cannot make booking online, you have to phone them ( telephone number on their web site) but they speak perfect english.

I stayed in the Aranea last year - Cheap and comfortable. Also if you are going via Ryan Air to Girona the bus stops about 100 yards away!

Booking was cheapest with the hotel itself not any of the agents!

I still havnt booked and only have 2 weeks until departure!! Yes I am organised.....

I have looked at the recommendations and those that look good are booked up.

Anyone got any other recommendations

Try Hotel Guitart Almirante (look it up)

I stayed there in Feb, its very very close to La Ramblas and is a nice small modern hotel. It was £100 per night double room i think ! maybe not even that much

We stayed at the H10 Catalunya Plaza a few weeks back and would highly recommend it. http://www.h10.es

24 hour buffet incl. wine etc, excellent cooked buffet breakfast, champagne on check-in and the airport bus leaves you in the square across from the hotel.
