Questions in the Pharmacy

If I was going to commit suicide, I wouldn't go popping painkillers anyway. I'd just use stuff lying around the house - it worked for Alan Turing after he was found guilty of being gay in the early 1950's...
Besides, our bio-tech in this country is IVF and Viagra: we should be able to cure real diseases by now.0 -

i've just read the 1st post and cannot believe how small minded it is.
pharmacists are extremely well educated, dedicated professionals who are just doing their jobs, if they didn't ask the questions you would be moaning that something could happen to you, i am grateful to them for being there and they often save a trip to the gp by answering medication questions.Lead me not into temptation, I can find the way myself.
wins - peroni bottle opener, peroni bowl, peroni coastersx2 and a vodkat cocktail kit,
would love to win something 'proper'!!0 -

I do not need a degree to know about the side effects of aspirin and I should be allowed to go about my business without interogation, the rest of Europe is not subjected to these Nanny state procedures, allow us to make our own decisions.Whilst the compliant accept ,these actions will continue and the reason will be for the good of all, government should allow us to go about our business.
Why should your part-time training give you jurisdiction over what I buy?
The Royal Pharmaceutical Society requires all pharmacies in the UK to ask the WWHAM questions. This is not the case in other places selling OTC medication i.e. supermarkets, corner shops etc.
So if you would like to go about your business "without interrogation", I suggest you go buy your Aspirin at Asda!0 -

But someone said earlier that such delays can deter someone who is contemplating suicide...
Yes, they can. I tried buying four packs of painkillers from a supermarket for this very purpose, and it did.0
