ppi reclaim via vanquis credit card company

i have a vanquis credit card with a stupidly high apr (got it only to re-build my credit score), i had the 'ppi' as i was lead to believe that if something happened to my job, or i had to take a period of leave, then my ppi would cover. when i went on maternity i was on a lower pay, and although this didnt affect my ability to make the repayments i rang them for something totally unrelated and jst happened to mention that i was on maternity leave.
The women i was speaking to told me that i had this cover and been on maternity was a valid reason to activate the claim, thus meaning i would have to continue making payments for 9 months.
So i did, i claimed and thought no more about it apart from thinking 'get in'! thats saved me a few qid each momth.
But because the ppi was activated i was informed that i wouldnt be recieving statements as the account was 'frozen' and the payments would be taken care of by the company.
It wasnt until i retured back to work that i rang vanquis to inform them that i was able to resume making regular payments to my account and to cancel the ppi claim.
Within a few days i received my latest statement and to my horror my balance was several hundred pounds over my limit and i knew i hadn't spend any on it as that was part of the ppi claim deal, i wasn't allowed to use the card whilst the claim was active.
I rang them to enquire the balance and i was informed that the ppi wasn't in actual fact worth the ink printed on the statements.
Basically what i was paying for each month was not a payment protection insurance, all it was was literally a 9 month payment break where you don't pay them anything, but each month they add the normal interest and £12 a month over limit fee. at no point during my maternity leave did they phone me to inform me that my account was overdue, so obviously im bitter that i was mis-informed and ive wasted money. Its safe to say that i cancelled the monthly add on to my credit card to pay for this privilidge, and ive seen all of the tv adverts regarding ppi, do you trusty MSE readers believe i have a decent case for re-claiming my ppi claim, and if so can anyone reccommend a company to do this on my behalf as i did the bank charges myself and that took years and never got a bloody penny!

thanks to all who read and or reply.

All you have to do is look here for reasons for mis sell

If any/all apply to you then make a claim.

    Vanquis Visa Card
    Customer Services
    PO Box 399

That is all there is to it and you keep all the redress if you win.

You could use a company and pay the % they will take if you win, but they cannot make a claim come to a conclusion any faster than Vanquis can do it.
