Do not go near them or any other claim company, all they do is post your letter for you and keep at least 25% + vat for doing so. Would you write a letter, buy a stamp, and then pay someone hundreds if not thousands of pounds to put it in a post box? You can do it all yourself with the help of this forum and keep every penny of your money if successful.
My question would be how did they know you had a loan with Blemain Finance and where did they get this information ?

    Thanks Dilus....

They told me that the securities division of Blemain have gone into admin and that I would find it extremely hard to get a refund through the administrators.

I've no idea how they got my info though.

Been contacted by a few of these companies over the past few days, all saying the same thing :embarasse

So what makes them think they can ????

I have just done a quick search and they seem to still be very active.

Think about it - either they are lying or they have stolen your personal data.

Do you seriously want to do business with such an organisation?

Never thought of them doing that Magpie....

As I said in my opening post ... I'm not up to speed on these type of things :embarasse

Should I contact them asking how they got my info?

Would imagine Magpiecottage will reply but I would have nothing further to do with them, if they harass you further put this to them and they will probably hang up ;)

I think that would be like replying to Spam E-Mails; it would just result in more unwanted contact with them.

Just an update on my first post from yesterday...

Received today, again, several calls all on the subject of Blemain Finance Security Division...
That is now 12 in total.

Does anybody know how these companies pick up my details?

You may have appeared on a mugs list. Dodgy companies sell your details onto other dodgy companies if you have entertained them on the phone. i.e. you showed an interest. They dont want to know the people who have the sense to hang up and leave it at that. They want to target those that are easily conned.

The fact is that your data is not in the public domain. It has either been illegally sold to them or they have come by using other means. (e.g. ex employees)

No, but take care when you talk to them that you don't give away any more personal information to them and DO NOT FOR ANY REASON provide credit card or bank details.

My advice is not to talk to them again, don't answer phone if you know it's them or otherwise tell them not to call again and that you will report them for harrasment if they do.
