Splash Landings ????

Hi

I am thinking of taking my family away to Splash Landings 11th - 13th May. We've never been before, would anyone be able to recommend it?

Would we need to pay extra to use the pool and to use the theme park Alton Towers too?

Sorry, if this is posted in the wrong place but I am still trying to find my feet around MSE.

Thank you.

Hi yes you have to pay extra for the waterpark and theme park too. I've never stayed there (we usually go the premier inn / travelodge route) but from what i've heard it's a nice fun hotel but expensive for what it is x
  • I have stayed at the Alton Towers Hotel but not Splash Landings. Went into the Pool via the Splash Landings Hotel and it did seem very umm, shall we say, 'lively' Maybe this was just because it was pouring down though so evyone was making a beeline for the pool (the latter was excellent by the way - one of the best indoor facilities I have experienced!).

If the breakfast is anything like the Alton Towers hotel breakfast by the way, then you are in for a treat - absolutely fabulous!:T

On balance I would say give it a try:j

Have stayed with the grandchildren at the splash landings hotel and then a day at the splash pool. Enjoyed it very much, the pool area is large and has things for all ages, it says no food to be brought in but on both times we have taken sandwiches in with us as the cafe has limited food and expensive. Children thought the hotel was very good, managed to get a good deal so we thought it was well worth it.

We stayed there for a weekend with a 1 yr old and 3 yr old. Food was ok, quite pricey at Flambos feast unless you are a big eater (buffet style) but quite fun and kid friendly. Think it was about £18 a head for all you can eat. Pool was far too hectic for my children. Really is a splash park rather than a swimming pool. Lots of booby traps everywhere with young lads pouring water on your head etc when you walk past. Got sick of people squirting water pistols etc when I had a little baby with me. There are not quiet swimming areas and the toddler pool was very shallow and cold. Think it is a fab place if your children are 8+ - especially boisterous boys - but not great for toddlers.
  • Hi i have stayed in both the Alton Towers Hotel (Once) & the Splash landings (Twice) I preferred the Alton towers Hotel.
The theme park and waterpark as others have said are extra. you can use the bars in both hotels and apart from breakfast you eat in either hotel, also are you aware there is a code for 50% off rooms ?

Similar, and also preferred the Alton Towers Hotel. We went with a package which included Water Park tickets each time and that seemed quite good value. The published Water Park prices were approaching £100 for a family which seemed very OTT!
