iTunes

I'm finding that since I updated iTunes, that its running slow as in it freezes or hangs for a few seconds before carrying out the task i want it to.

It was fine when I first installed it, but it was the update, not the recent one (as not updated to this yet) but the one before that.

I'm running it on a win7 machine i3 with 8GB of ram, so its not as if the pc is underpowered.

I've searched on the web and found many people with similar problems, but no real solve to the issue.

A friend of mine says "its because your on a pc, as it runs fine on a mac"

If you're wondering why I've not updated, its because the last time I did iTunes wiped most of my album artwork out after it took me ages adding it all:(

Is anyone else using iTunes on a pc and experiencing this?

Yes I have the same issues, it really is a bl**dy awful, I'm convinced they make it crap on Windows to try and persuade us all to go Mac. Win 7 64 bit.

I also have it on my work pc, and it runs smooth as a nut on there and that pc has less power than my home one, also the other difference is the amount of music as I have 70GB on my home one and about 10 albums on the work one:D

Not sure if this would make a difference?

Hi, My ipod stopped working with my laptop and itunes started to go slow for no reason. I tried updates as per the Apple help site suggestions but with no luck. The only way I could get it all working again was to wipe i-tunes from the hard disc and re-install it. (took a while to get the music back on) It all works fine now. Sorry, not much help but sometimes its quicker and easier to just start again.

BTW I have nearly 150 albums so It did take a while!

    Hi Crispy

I had tried that tonight, by uninstalling and re installing again but it was still the same:(

However I think I've found the cure to my problem:j

I switched off on both my iPad and iPhone within iTunes the sync over wifi, and iTunes is running as it was again, long may it continue:)

My music reappeared instantly, so at least that worked ok.
