I'm looking for an car at the moment.
Only thing is I don't know much about cars.
What are the best sites for private sales? How much should I negotiate at a dealer or private sale?
I looked at some vw, audis, but they have like 90k miles on them,
I looked at kia and citroen, much cheaper and lower milage only not sure which one will be better on the long run?
The resale value is a concern as well.
Not sure, but I need a car soon.
I can spend about 7k.
I'm confused and tired of looking around. I went last week to car dealer, it looked okay on the internet, but when I arrived it was an normal family house with 5 cars in the back and 2 large barking pitbulls, it had an history check, but you could tell by the look of it the mileages was not real. Not sure how he pulled this off?
Help much appropriated.

You might be best finding a car supermarket such as Car Craft.0

What are your actual requirements for a car?
If you are concerned about osing money on resale, then the best plan is to spend less in the first place and limit your liability.
What usage do you plan on getting out of the car? Daily short runs? Daily long commute? Wekkend trips away and not much else?
DO you need a hatchback or estate for practicality, or a sporty car for fun?
Get a clear picture of what you want/need from a car and it becomes much easier to see the woods from the trees.
Milage isn't a problem on some cars, it's more of a problem on others, buy on condition, history and specification rather than milage alone. PLently of cars with 90k miles on them are much better buys than some cars with 30-40k miles on them.
If you can spend up to £7k, I'd suggest spending no more than £5k and keeping a bit back for bills (or just something else). You can buy a car for pretty much ANY needs with a £5k budget, unless you're a badge/reg plate snob about it!0 -
pleast take someone that know about cars with you else you'll be back here crying.freshseabreeze wrote: »I'm looking for an car at the moment.

You have a very good budget for a car .
Don't let those bad sellers and experciences put you off .
Have you decided wht car you require , petrol / disiel / engine size / and shape.
Look for car with full documented service history means good owner.
I use Autotrader and buy from private sellers and cars with full service history .
With your budget you should not encounter cheap cars in return owned by Di.kheads
Anyway good luck .0
