Blank active download window in FF 10.0.2

Since updating to Firefox 10.0.2 , nothing appears in the download window when I'm downloading something, although I do get the "download finished" notification, and sometimes even see the "scanning for viruses" message in said window. Does anyone have any idea as to why this is? I updated FF as I always have, ie when I received the notification from FF saying that there is a stable update, and haven't altered anything else, and the downloads do appear on my desktop, but I'm baffled as to why they no longer appear in the download window when I'm actively downloading something! TIA

Have you installed the download statusbar and tried that instead? Don't know if it will amke any difference, but it just puts a small bar with a progress meter at the bottom of the screen.
