Could anyone please tell me if i have done the right thing in changing my gas and electricity supply over to first utility, has anyone had any dealings with them, as i have 14 days to cancel.

You need to read more about them. They can be the cheapest....but there is a big IF

Are you staying put in your property for the next 12 months? Renters should avoid this tariff like the plague. Are you willing to pay £15 more a month in the hope of getting £180 back in 12 months. Can you guarantee every direct debit will go out on time? Can you read the meter regularly and provide that to first:utility or have a smart meter installed? Can you spend £600 a year before discounts to get the discount? Not close to but definitely spend more than £600 every year...I wouldn't touch it unless your quarterly spend is at least £150 in every quarter including the cheapest summer quarter. This might mean an annual spend of about £1,000.
