Would you recommend a steam mop?

Our whole downstairs is laminate and amtico flooring.
It's such a lot of work to keep them clean.
Costco has one of those steam mops on offer - does anyone have one? Are they worth it?
It's £40 and I hoped it would save some money in cleaning products.

Look at reviews on Amazon - they seem to be pretty well liked there and we are considering getting one for ease of cleaning and lack of use of chemicals0

Ive had three, two from costco and one given to me. They do a good job of cleaning.
However, the cord on them isn't long enough (IMO) and they don't last very long.
The only good thing is that costco replace them if they stop working so you could give it a go without having to worry.
Personally, I much prefer the good old fashioned way of mop and bucket0 -

I bought myself one in the January sales and I love it! I've got laminate and vinyl downstairs and tiles in the bathroom.
I've got three children and two dogs so the floors get quite dirty. I find it much quicker than using a mop and bucket and the floor is left much drier too. When the sun is coming through the sitting room window, the floor by the window is dry by the time I've worked back to the door!
I do agree the cord is short, so I have to change sockets when I change rooms, unlike the hoover which has a massive cord and I can do the whole downstairs from one socket!
One of my little monkeys had spilled Dr Pepper on the sitting room floor and hadn't wiped it up properly, so there were sticky black marks on the floor. The steam mop got it up first time, compared to probably having a few goes over it with a normal mop and bucket. Here I go again on my own....0 -
Just had a look online for the mop and it states Uses distilled or soft water. I thought you just used tap water? I live in a hard water area0
