Bought our new ones from these people.
They sell ex BT Display returns, the set we got had not been used, but box edge was crushed.
OH works for BT and these were cheaper than she could get with discount.
Binned our Binatone, due the sound being rubbish, back to BT.
  • Panasonic Digital Telephone and Answering Machine, KXTG7123ES
    Trio DECT

These come in single, dual, trio and quad variants. Superb phone quality and reliability.
I have tried a number of phones and returned most of them as I was not impressed with the funtionality, build or sound quality. (Argos is great for returns ;) )

Best I have found is this Panasonic model which is widely available. Try a kelkoo search for the best prices.

I got mine from comet in a deal but look cheaper at John Lewis. Go for it.

Since light travels faster than sound, some people appear bright until you hear them speak. :p

If you can find them I'd always recommend siemens. After using a few different brands I have settled on them. The older BT diverse DECT products are all rebranded siemens as well.

  • Something to think about if DECT phones are going to be your main phone is possible radiation . Lots on the Internet about it just Google it . ie http://www.tetrawatch.net/science/dect.php or

    http://www.newtreatments.org/doc.php/WisdomExperience/100

    where it says:

    What's the problem ?
The problem is that the DECT phone and the base station send out a very powerful signal, that's a lot more powerful than the signal sent out by a cellular phone.

    The real problem:
The real problem however is that the DECT design is plain stupid: The base station sends this same powerful signal 24 hours a day, even when you wouldn't use the phone a single time that day. That means that also during sleep, the DECT base station keeps sending this strong signal.

The DECT base station can be compared with a cellular phone transmitter antenna in your backyard, at only 20 yards distance

Is it true , who knows >>>>

I've had the same Panasonic DECT answerphone for about 10 years now - can't complain - it is still going strong. It is well built, and sound quality is good.

I have some binatones too - the E3300 (all working together of course) and I would say the quality is not as good as the Panasonic - but they work OK.

Try these Panasonics - with an extra points code they are good value. We've just bought the 7122
