Cordless phones - please recommend

Hi, I think cordless phones are a real pain to buy
I've bought quite a few and there seems to be a big variance in call quality.
Have any of you bought any that you're actually happy with? Looking for a twin set. Anybody seen any special offers?
Any recommendations gratefully received.

Thanks,
Ezman

  • i used to have a binatone quad pack, they were a nice small phone but crap call quailty, just bought bt synergy 4100, call quality not too bad but weird things keep happening- i dailed my friend number in the phone reconised it and displayed her name on the display but phone somebody else up!!! i've programmed it to ring with a certain ring tone, it rings once then switches to a loud beep!!!
what i did like about it though is thatit has a sim card copier built into it,hey presto all your numbers are in the phone memory!!

I've had a few sets - binatone was rubbish, BT not much better.

Currently got a philips triple set and they are very good - excellent call quality.

Depends on how much you want to pay. These are good.

  • I purchased a pair of Binatone E3300 DECT cordless phones during the great Argos RO sale from a couple of years back and they've been the best set of phones I've had. I'd have no hesitation of buying Binatone again.

Over in the What's Going Cheap site, you can buy a Binatone basic DECT phone for the sum of only £5.92!

Not a looker I agree but still good value nonetheless.

The same site's also got other phones at great prices too. I'd thoroughly recommend them as I've bought plenty of bargains from there before!

Learn from the mistakes of others - you won't live long enough to make them all yourself.

That site is only good if you are buying a few things.
Nearly £10 delivery charge for the phone and even that much if you just ordered a bottle opener!!!
If it's not a bargain, it's not worth buying :D
  • Binatone a lot better these days - I had one for a few years and it was awful but recently I bought a new one hoping they had moved on and was pleasantly surprised - it does all that it should and sound quality is very good - it also looks good (the picture doesnt do it justice).

    From Argos

This is a single handset but im sure they do a double set if you look.
Aint got a signature - as I cant think of anything world wisely to say.
  • If I can put my 2 pennies worth in then I'd say that no matter what brand of phone that you choose, make sure that you buy a digital (DECT) one.

You'd be amazed at the amount of people listening in on other peoples conversations (and also at the things that get said!!) if they have an analogue handset:eek:
    Dear Lord,
I pray for wisdom to understand my man, love to forgive him and patience for his moods, because Lord, if I pray for strength, I'll beat him to death. :rotfl:

Thanks for the responses, going to buy some at the weekend (still don't know which one yet). Some of the phones say they are digital but not whether they are DECT. Are all digital phones DECT?
  • Yes - DECT = Digitally Enhanced Cordless Telephone
