I see the message that a file is dity in my c drive then it cleans it. This shows it being done in stages, by percentage. Even when the pc is shut down correctly, next time the pc is put on, the blue screen shows.
Sorry for the poor description... What have i done wrong? Or what can i do to repair?

Sounds as though yr hard drive has errors.
Will it start in safe mode? (F8 during boot process) - if so, goto the command prompt and enter chldsk c:/r
This checks and attempt to repair any faults - at the end it should give you a report - look for the line that says "bad sectors" if greater than 0 then you will need to replace the hdd.
Clearly a key safeguard is to ensure that your personal data is backed up,
If you are unable to get the system to start, you may need to remove the hdd and test it on another system (as non-booting slave) and run the chkdsk driveletter:/r there.0 -

Totally agree, just want to add a couple of things, Try pressing F11 as sometimes that can bring up an option to check the disk before the computer actually loads up (F8 may do this as well, it varies from computer to computer).
Also, Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) is not solely linked to HDD issues, it is primarily shown when there is corrupt hardware or incomplete/inconsistent drivers (which can include the HDD). Have you installed anything recently? Update any drivers?
If so, that could be the problem. If the above doesn't work, try booting into safe mode (as above) and performing a system restore to a time before you got the BSOD;
Start >> All Programs >> Accessories >> System Tools >> System Restore (This is for Windows Vista, may vary on Windows 7)
Hope this is of some help0 -
