The trouble with non drip gloss is that it is not actually non drip. If you load the brush too thickly, you can lose drops off of the brush if you are not careful. The fact that it is called non drip can create a sense of over confidence.
I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.

Quite right. So called non-drip paint is actually thixotropic. It has a gel-like consistency in its undisturbed state (in the tin) which means it doesn't drip from the tin, but once it's stirred or worked in any way it becomes fluid. Once on the brush it will behave just the same as any other paint.

Frog Tape is meant to be used with water-based paints. It's not so good with solvent type paints.

Having recently tried out standard tape, Blue Scotch and Frog tape, I can confirm that YELLOW frog tape is definitely the best to use for delicate walls and those that have been recently plastered. However as the previous poster stated, this tape is only really effective for water-based/latex paints due to its composition which reacts with the paint and instantly gels to form a micro-barrier that seals the edges of the tape. It is also low tack, there is nothing more frustrating than having to keep retouching up what the tape has removed.
I have tried freehand but the minute I climb the ladder, my hands seem to suffer with an immediate case of shake-itis!
    Happy painting
