Hello there
Bet this is easily fixed but I'm stumped!
You know when you put your computer on you have icons down the left hand side? Well my arm slipped today when I was trying to click on 'my documents' and now I have a band across the top of the screen displaying my documents. How do I get this off?

do you mean ur desktop icons r on the top of your screen or do you mean the bar that goes along the bottom of ur screen is along the topNo Links in Signature by site rules - MSE Forum Team 20 -
it sounds like they have put the taskbar at the top of the screen and I cant remember how you do it now.
I know you can some how put your taskbar down the sides or up the top with xp but have forgotten how

If you mean you have moved the task bar (so that "START" is now in the top left rather tan the bottom left) all you do is left click on any "grey" area on the sak bar and drag it to wher you want to.
You can then right click on the grey area and select "Lock the Taskbar" to stop this happening again.0 -
oops sorry no it is a light brown 2" thick bar with things like 'my photos' and 'my videos' written not icons??? It is xp.You may walk and you may run

Basically its all the items I have in 'my documents' that are now written on this band so I can click on them instead of using the icons but the icons are still there down the left hand side and they still work too.You may walk and you may run

Yeeee haaaaaa I did it........ It's gone .......I think(??) I right clicked on the band and followed the instructions. In fact I was getting abit fed up and went a wee bit loopy on it and i'm thinking thats what I did!!!
