Haven't tried because I'm not really that bothered. It's not my main account.

  • Hi : dont know whether you've sorted this out yet but I can tell you that TalkTalk have had emailing trouble now for about 10 days. I spoke to customer services twice and they said they have technicians working on it to try to sort it out. Sometimes it will work and then it wont - you never know when you can rely on it. If you go to TalkTalk's own website - log into your account with password etc you can view the email messages on "webmail". Ive found that some emails with pictures attached tend to get stuck so Ive checked them out on Webmail and deleted - then the other emails seem to come thru okay. Hope this helps.

I'm with OneTel who were taken over by Carphone Warehouse (who run TalkTalk too) and I've also been having email problems on and off for the last week. Their techies say they're trying to sort the problems.

I'm with talktalk - it's about the 8th or 9th ISP I have tried - thought I'd give them a go after an excellent but "New Customers only" service from Pipex.

The broadband connection is fine but only 2MB after promising 5MB on their phone line checker.

I've experienced the flakey email service too and I've never been able to receive newsgroups - it just didn't setup! Talktalk's response (after consulting their lousy tech advice page) was for me to PHONE THEIR TECHIES ON A 0871 number. Yeah! Right!

I will not be renewing with them at the end of the contract period.

& we get no response from them at all.

Thank goodness for AOL - although lots might disagree!!

Talktalk promised our service would be sorted by MOnday 26th but as of this morning they say it will take them another 24 - 48 hours to sort their problems out. Supposedly we will get compensation for their errors (would have put something else but might be told off). Our phone calls last 20 seconds before disconnecting and no emails for nearly a week. All they do is apologise but the service is getting worse rather than better. If you have the free broadband then we are the only ones affected.
  • I wouldn't trust TalkTalk with my email, you could try switching to Gmail. You'd still be able to download it to a mail client such as Thunderbird but I've found that I'm using it from the web all the time now.
