I'm thinking about getting one and i just wondered - obviously i'd be able to pair it with my phone and play my music.

but can i just transfer my music from my phone to the stereo - so that i don't always have to keep getting my phone out all the time?

I don't know of any bluetooth car stereo that allows this, years ago you could get stereo's with internal hdd's but this was soon dropped.

If buying a bluetooth stereo, JVC, Pioneer and the higher end Kenwood models are the ones to get as these all come with external noise cancelling microphones, which makes call quality crystal clear.

Where I work we install JVC units into customer machines, and they're very good bluetooth wise.

I use pioneer in my car and its excellent.

A cheaper option might be, the parrot units and these can be used with your existing car stereo:)

Whatever you do though, don't skimp and get the one from the Mutant range, they are awful quality and at work we had lots of unit failures when we used them;)

Not necessarily, my last car only allowed telephone calls to be played back. There was no support for music to be played back.
