.3GP files

Someone might laugh that I've posted this under techie stuff and perhaps you don't need to be technical at all, but I couldn't work out how....

I've taken a video on my smartphone and e-mailed it to someone. They said they can't open this file type on their computer. I now have the file saved on my computer - it's a .3GP file. How can I convert it to another format?

Thanks so much.

    VLC Player will play it.
Tell them to untick the option for File Association, or it will take over the playing of every media file. Unless they are happy for that to happen.

Alternatively, Super will convert it from 3GP into a format such as .wmv or .mp4 (or pretty much anything you like).

Wow. What a complicated site to even try and find the actual download! (Maybe it's obvious with Javascript enabled, but I don't enable it for websites I don't know).

Yeah - I agree, it's one of the most horrid website designs I've seen in years!

Still, the product is free, so you can't complain too much...

That would be easy with a .3GP video conveter.
I have used this one for times and comes without any shortcomings.
so go and have a look.Hope this helps.

It comes as no surprise to me that you are linking once again to the same software company. A cursory search of your posts will reveal that every one of your recommendations is for the same company.

    Hello,

Apple Quicktime can play most .3gp files. Note that like .avi and .mp4 files a .3gp file is actually a container so it does not guarantee what format the video and audio streams will be.

Most video files from phones will use either h.264 or mpeg-4 video and either AAC or PCM audio.
