can anyone tell me how to get the gmail notifier to work on googlemail when i scroll over the icon it says offline is there something i need to do to get it to work

I'm assuming you are talking about the notifier that sits in the bottom right of the taskbar in Firefox?
you need to set it up....if you right click on it and choose preferences, you have to tell the notifier your gmail account name and password.

if your running firefox then you may have gmail manager which you need to set up, if you mean gmail notifier the small blue envelope on the task bar then thats the same you need to put your gmail address in and password and it should work

i,m not running firefox will the gmail notifier only work with firefox

No, it'll work with any browser. It just opens up the default browser.

It'd be a good idea to change the notifier so that it works via https (instead of http). This means your login will be sent securely and encrypted rather than in open text.
