SW Trains - caught without ticket

SWT wont receive any of the money for failing to tap out or what ever the situation was, TfL would do. I do work for a TOC, and deal with railway prosecutions day in, day out as part of my role.newfoundglory wrote: »Stigy probably works for the railways - so best ignored - all the railway wants is your £££££. Its not about fare evasion, its all about extra profit for the train operator. Why else would they be wasting time with this, after you had already touched in? You would have paid for the journey either way.
The whole system is setup so the commuter gets screwed.
(i'm anti-railway by the way, and even more anti-SWT)
And another rule: NEVER sign anything.0 -
slight conflict of interest then, Stigy? :rotfl:0

They are 4 very good defences before it even gets to court, the solicitor will run you through them, do not fill that confession contract in until you have spoken with one.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. Have you every thought that perhaps if he did work for the railways, he would therefore know the system and would try his best to help people in trouble.newfoundglory wrote: »all the railway wants is your £££££. Its not about fare evasion, its all about extra profit for the train operator.
It's a private company it's all about profit. Unfortunately private Train Companies have strong byelaws to use to their advantage.newfoundglory wrote: »(i'm anti-railway by the way, and even more anti-SWT)
I never would have guessed that, but please don't let your argument with SWT drop the OP in more trouble.Whoa! This image violates our terms of use and has been removed from view0 -

Nope. Anyone who makes assumptions like that would be a fool.

Independent advice is all well and good, if it's factual.newfoundglory wrote: »Nope. Anyone who makes assumptions like that would be a fool.

You could say I'm biased or what ever, I really don't care. Truth is though, Livingthedream is, once again, correct. I know only too well how it works, and work with cases such as this every day. I even report people for offences too...Independent advice, from experience, although well intentioned, tends to be ill-informed a lot of the time.0 -

Hmm, that could be a problem.
OP did you touch out and get charged the maximum fare? Do you still have your oystercard?
Nope
Did you even read the flipping thread before spouting your anti railway bullcrap?
The op didnt pay at all and is looking to get off technicality which is unlikely to happen.
Half of your posts would be unnecessary as the Qs you ask in them have been provided.0 -
I think it's best if the OP ignores the 'anti-railway' company advice and sees a solicitor.
It's all well and good shouting 'I hate corporations' but when you're blatantly not reading posts and encouraging to defraud a railway company, you look a bit silly.
For example, I used to work for Carphone Warehouse and I'd still help people find the most efficient way to resolve issues, as I know the internal channels.
Just because someone is employed by someone doesn't mean they'll give information to try and squeeze the most money from the consumer.0 -
I don't think the advice posted by newfoundglory is at all helpful. As for Stigy, I can understand why people are sceptical, I was at first too, but I've actually found him to be very helpful. All available evidence in previous threads (and from PMs) is that Stigy uses his experience to help people, not to set traps to catch people out! My advice to the OP is to take the advice offered by Stigy.0
