Thanks!
I don't pay water bills, but living in a shared house, that's probably going to save a bit of water for my grand children!0 -
What do these do exactly? Sorry for my ignorance!0

remember some people put a brick in their toilet's cisern to save water?
this is a bag filled with something that expand when soak in water, but unlike brick, it does not leave bits inside cisern after a period of time. put it in cisern and save litre(s) of water for each flush, for a family that flush at least 20 times a day, that is many many litres of water saved per day. therefore save money on water bills, and save the environment.
i have one in my cisern and save money on bills.
a bag will last for 5 years. good stuff. saw it in some websites for sale at 1.95 each plus p&p.0 -
do they fit through your letter box?0
-
yer they get bigger when put in water by the looks of it. i have seen them befor i think but sent off for some anywayzQuidcoPaid;£989.08
Total Earnt:£1061.590 -
Has anybody heard of " The big Black Cat? "0
-
yes, they will get through the letterbox and they are as flat as pancake
and very light in weight, just like a small plastic bag fill up with plastic little beads, but after it soaks overnight in cisern, it expands to an unbelievable volume, which is as big as a brick.

Being a plumber these are a pain in the !!!!!
Maybe not such a problem in older toilets coz they are a 9 litre flush...
So will probably not cause a problem....
But....
Newer toilets are a 6 litre flush and then people put these devices in their cisterns and cut it down even more
The toilets are designed to work with a 6 litre flush!!!!!!!
Then wonder why 'things' dont flush away
8 times out of ten you end up flushing twice so defeats the object a bit doesnt it
They look a bit upset when I run my stanley knife through them and throw it in the bin.....0 -
:rotfl:
Fair enough, have ordered mine but think ill give them away or something0 -

u learn a bit everyday
never see it from a plumber's angle, now i know, for number 2 must flush twice, but still save a lot of water for number 1, because each day a normal person will only do number 2 once, but number 1 many many times.
thanks for the advice. will continue to use it but more careful for number 2.0
