I decided to pull my head out of the sand a few weeks back, but it's took me a while to pick up the nerve to sort through all my paperwork so I could get my PPI claim in only to find I don't have all the paperwork I thought I did--or I've lost them somewhere in the great beyond!
I can't find my MBNA policy number, would this be on any correspondence I've had from them or on my virgin statements/letters or could I send the claim in with just my virgin CC account number?
When sorting through my paperwork which hasn't been done probably for about 10 years I found info for something I started paying out for when I was first a student and had my first cc for emergencies. it's called GuardCard for lost/stolen cards. Is this even needed? Would I be covered anyway? I totally forgot I took this out way back when I was a teenager, and I think the reason my HSBC card never seems to get paid off is because they take the money from my cc and not my account. It's something I missed when looking through my outgoings because it doesn't show like an outgoing. Is this PPI? Should I cancel it? I have no clue!
I also found two letters from Aviva that I don't remember, one from 2005 thanking me for my application for Borrower Protection; I have no idea what this is for or any memories of taking it out. Is it worth phoning them? I also have a letter from 2010 cancelling it, again I donj't remember this. Both letters are sent using a misselt name too!
Sorry if this isn't the place for all of this, I just wasn't quite sure where else I should ask!
Any advice before I scare myself and hide from all this paperwork again?
thanks
