am sure hubby was mis sold ppi as his job paid when off sick etc cannot remember the phone conversation but do know he would have stated that i would have been paid as it was fact. The thing is we did have to claim when the company went in to liquidationafter being employed for 10 years. We have been told we could still claim the ppi as the policy would have been a waste of time as we could have covered the payments if off sick etc and it was a fluke that we had to claim at all.The thing that worries me is as it was some time ago and a telephone call i cant remember much of the conversation and feel that i might get into trouble if they say that wasnt what was said. Should i just send in what i know. I have notised that there are a lot of oportunists who dont have any resasons and are still trying to claim do they get in to trouble for putting in a false claim confused by the whole thing tbh. any help please

You cant remember the conversation so nothing is fact in that respect. The thing is we did have to claim when the company went in to liquidationafter being employed for 10 years.
Which shows you did know about the policy and it did pay out so you were eligble. We have been told we could still claim the ppi as the policy would have been a waste of time as we could have covered the payments if off sick etc
You can still make a complaint if the sick pay was 6 months full pay, 6 months half. If it was any shorter than that (e.g. just statutory sick pay or say 3 months pay) then that is not a valid complaint reason.it was a fluke that we had to claim at all.
its not a fluke. It is what can happen. You hope it doesnt but it may do and in your case it did.I have notised that there are a lot of oportunists who dont have any resasons and are still trying to claim do they get in to trouble for putting in a false claim confused by the whole thing tbh.
At this moment in time the big providers are not taking action against those trying it on. It tends to be mortgage advisers and IFAs that consider it (mainly as a fraudulent complaint can put them out of business so is considered far more serious).
Based on recent posts, there has been an increase in some providers asking for evidence to back up allegations made. Sickness benefits being one that was mentioned on another thread. If the employer was say public sector with its generous sickness benefits of 6 months full, 6 months half, the lender wont need to check as they know. If it is some small localised firm who they don't know then they may ask for proof. You dont know what the lender is going to ask for as evidence, if they ask for anything at all.
You can complain if you have good reason to and if you are successful then they will refund the premium paid and deduct the amount of the claim from the redress. If the claim paid more than the premium paid then no redress will be payable.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. Thanks should have said before that it wasnt until i went to my bank did i realise what the ppi was for.I might never had claimed if it were not from them. Also there was no time limit as such for full pay that i can remember. As i said i didnt think we could complain as we had made a claim but info has suggested otherwise so i suppose its worth a try .thanks0
