Where do i start

Hi All..

I have had many loans/credit cards in the last 10 years and with all the companies that are mentioned as mis-selling ppi -northern rock/mbna/cahoot/first plus etc but have no idea where to start.

I do not have any of the agreements available as once the policies ended i destroyed them so have no contact/policy numbers at hand.

Would a credit report give me this info and if so as there are a number of credit reports available which one would give better info?

I get regular calls from the reclaims companies and when i tell them who i have had policies with, they all say that one particular company i have mentioned is guaranteed to have mis sold.

I have scoured this website but i just dont know where to start doing it all by myself which leads me to wonder if i should just sign up and let 1 of these companies do it all for me...

You can try any of the free credit checks (Experian, Equifax) etc if this sheds no light then other option is to SAR each bank but they will probably only go back 6 years and it costs £10 for each
Do not use a claims company they will demand at least 25% + vat for posting a letter and you will still have to do the donkey work for them getting the account numbers. If you go to the trouble of getting the account numbers why hand that info on to someone else, no brainer It's easier and quicker to do it yourself as soon as you have account numbers, you will get as much help as you need here for 0%
You could always contact the banks (phone or in branch) and ask what loans/cc's you have had and if any had PPI

i dont think the credit checks will supply account numbers i know experian dosnt best to send a sar
