RBS Student Royalties Account Overdraft - is it really free?

http://www.rbs.co.uk/Personal_Finances/students_&_youth/student_royalties/interest_free_od.htm

My son has overdrawn on this account and says it won't cost him anything as it is arranged. I have an overdraft facility for any accidents but it will still cost me if I use it, in interest.

Is there a catch? If so what is it?

I'm worried it is teaching him bad habits too.

  • My son also had an RBS student account, called Royalties. Rest assured that the overdraft is absolutely free, provided its not exceeded!

If I recall correctly, when he graduated RBS gave him an interest-free loan to repay the outstanding balance. This was a few years ago, but should still be the case.
