Claiming back tax on HTD

Hello all,

Hoping someone can help...

A couple of the lads at work have been able to claim tax on their HTD back from HRM due to the fact that you pay tax on it when it comes from source...and that you naturally already pay tax on fuel.

One of them was trying to explain the procedure to me....loggings days worked a month, miles etc, that are required to fill in on the form (can't remember which). This guy is a little preoccupied with a course at the moment, so, I was wondering if someone could point me in the right direction.

You can also claim up to the last 10 years..which would be great, as I have lived out for a few.

Can anyone help or guide me in the right direction?

Thanks

Rolo

You can't claim on HTD, you can if you used your car for courses though.

You can claim the tax back on 20p for each mile of MMA during the year.

PM me for the details but I got the procedure from HMRC themselves so I know it is legit.

So if you have already claimed 25p for MMA you can claim the tax back on the remaining 20p. You are not claiming 20p but rather the tax back on it.

No idea how it all works just know the forms are the ones my husband was told to use to claim tax back. Have just sent them away so on a wait and see, one of his guys told him about it not sure how long he claimed for but he got £450 back.
