Flat mate switched to fist utility, how long to cancel

My flat mate unfortunately switched to first utility without my knowledge. The electric has just the last couple of days gone live. Is there a way to cancel the contract under some sort of 28 day policy?
TIA

If your flatmate transferred in your name and without your authority, you need to write to FU and advise them that you are not a party to the supply contract, since the change was made without your consent. Keep copies and give one to you flatmate. That leaves a choice for your flatmate as to whether to accept responsibility in full for the account or to go about reversing the change.

It was changed in his name as there are tow of us that live here. He looked on a comparison website and obviously saw it was the cheapest without looking at the company. Obv as two live at the address do we both need to confirm to the swap.
Is there anything such as a 28 day cancel policy for electric companies?

No both names are not required. Your flatmate is now fully responsible for the bill. You could offer to pay your flatmate what you would have paid with another supplier and let him take the risks with the deferred discount being paid or not. He could cancel and it will cost him £30 per fuel to cancel. If he stays in this property for 12 months and pays on time then it can be the cheapest supplier. I feel the risks are too high.
    :footie:
:p Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S) :p Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money. :p

The cooling off period is 14 days from when you apply, not from when you switch. You cannot cancel once you are on supply. You can only switch again and pay any ETC that results..
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)
