Credit rating from Equifax - call?

I just signed up for the free 30 day trial at Equifax to get my credit record and also to get cashback from TopCashBack, but the site asked me to ring them up to complete the process.
I did this and was told to send a scan of drivers licence and bank statement to an email address. Do I need to do all this to get the cashback and if so, is this normal? Doesn't mention ANY of this having to call up here:

I have done the Experian and Noddle ones without issue.
About the Noddle one, I am looking at my credit record and there are some details missing, like it lists only 2 of my 4 bank accounts. Where it says balance it is £0! Should this be 0?0 -
It can't record any credit balance only a debit balance0

Oh, I see! That's good then. Thanks.
What about the Equifax asking me to send them drivers licence and bank statement email to verify my account? Will I not get the TOp Cash Back return now? (Got the experian cashback but not Equifax which I did before).0 -
Equifax seem to ask for this on every application for your credit report, a way of getting you to pay their call charges and make more money out of you.
I just tend to stick to experian - request your credit report for £2, quick and simple and you get it within a couple of days, equifax will try and charge you whenever they can and are very slow with refunds if they 'accidentally' charge you.
The £2 report is quick and easy and you can request it whenever you want.

Hmm, thanks for the reply. Well I have done the Experian one too now and I got the £5.05 cashback the same day.shadybrady wrote: »Equifax seem to ask for this on every application for your credit report, a way of getting you to pay their call charges and make more money out of you.

I would be happy sending Equifax my bank statement and ID over email IF it means Topcashback will then work and give me my £3 cashback or so, but will it?
I got the idea of doing this after reading here: http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/loans/credit-rating-credit-score#check but I'm dubious about the point in doing the Equifax one so far, should really mention that on the link.0
