Thumbs up for my local CEX store

Went into CEX today for a DVD of Thor (I love that film!) for £8 and saw that they still had the Season 2 of True Blood for £12 that I saw last month and couldn't afford then.

Lovely chatty guys on the tills, we were talking about Thor and I asked advice on a PS2 I want to trade in/sell. Then he tells me that the total is £23.

I said that I thought it was £20, he explained that the price for TB had gone up to £15 so I asked (nicely!) whether I could still have it at the price on the sticker. No problem at all, supervisor knocked the extra off on the till.

I know they didn't have to legally (not sure what the actual store policy would be) so I'm very happy that they did.

their store policy couldn't be anything contrary to the law but generally they'd refuse to sell it at the mis price, reprice it and put it out for sale again. sounds to me like the price had gone up and no one had changed the sticker, which in the interests of good customer service they should have charged you the advertised price, which they did.
  • My local CEX works well too.

I went in the other day to sell my old HTC phone, but got there 20 minutes before it was officially open and one of the staff were outside talking to the "customers" and finding out information for them.

I was thankful he was there because he asked me what I was selling, then went inside to check amounts and check if they were doing "cash purchases" and then came back out to inform me that they were.

Had he not been there, before the shop was actually open to business, I could have stood there for 20 minutes just to be informed that they were not doing cash purchases and could only offer trade currency.

Once inside, they were happy, talkative and laid back people.

Thumbs up to the guys and girls.

My local one smells of BO.

However, there are bargains to be had...
