Got a new PC with Windows 7 and when the Norton free security ran out OH installed free McAfee (from Orange) but it's like wading through treacle. Anyone else experienced this? I can type a line of print before it appears on the screen and it's driving me maaaaaaaaaad!
It's 5 o'clock somewhere!

Remove it and install Microsoft Security Essentials which is free from Microsoft.com website (and activate their firewall which comes preloaded with Win7 but may have been deactivated by McAfee)
Other free AV programs are available and I'm sure you will get plenty of other opinions on this.0 -
There's lot of animated discussion on here about which is the best AV program. But many of us would at least agree that McCrappy is one of the worst. Get rid of it and use MSE, Avast or Avira-all free.
Remember to remove it using the McAfee removal tool.No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
The most recent PC Pro magazine tested about a dozen security suites. Their verdict on McAfee was that it was "dire"... (That may be being kind.)0
