Hello all
I am considering starting a online computer game retail business and am looking for suppliers. (Mainly just prices to see if it is possible.)
Yes I know first reactions are:
no chance
business wont work
etc
But I thought I'd at least look into it
I thought Id ask here as maybe someone on heres runs a similar thing and knows the right people to deal with i.e. legit
Ive already contacted 2 large distributors and looked around other forums for others.
Gem distribution wants business address, telephone number, url etc before discussing prices
entertainment uk (ENTUK or EUK) doesnt deal with startups
any info grateful
thanks

my thinking is
you will never be able to compete with the big established names, and internet selling is very price dependent in this field
you wont get a decent discount unless you are buying very large volumes
i think you would be wasting your time going down even investigating this. How could you ever compete with the likes of play247, amazon, etc? Also a lot of the big players are based offshore to avoid VAT, which allows them to be cheaper.
Lots of people use search engines like https://www.find-games.co.uk, and even if you were cheapest for one game you wouldnt be for the next so they'd go there next time.0
