WMP is converting the file to WMA when you import it. So you'll have <track>.mp3 and <track>.wma in the music library. You need to go into the settings and tell it not to do that or just copy the files across and then in WMP update the library.
  • Media Player remembers where files were if you haven't told them you've moved or deleted them so it's probably just old markers in the library.

Try playing some of the duplicates and see if it realises it has outdated references and let it sort itself out. Then get a decent media player (I use Mediamonkey, but any three people will recommend three different programs. None will be WMP, though!).

But, if the white runs out, I'll drink the red.

Just thought I'd ask for some further assistance as whatever way we try to add music each track is duplicated especially from a stick . I am using Windows 7 Home Premium and our preferred player is WMP..... Any help or guidance would be appreciated
