Hi , a few years back I got divorced. One of my middle names was omitted by the solicitor on the paperwork. I think they thought it was part of my surname before I got married The solicitors secretary said the divorce judge queried it , but the solicitor contacted him and the divorce went through. but my middle name still didnt appear on the decree absolute. Am I still legally divorced ,?
I didnt think it mattered until I read that if you want to get married again you have to provide a copy of your decree absolute and your birth certificate These will have different names on
.
Thanks

I've always thought your middle name is optional. I don't use mine, I don't mention it on any forms and it doesn't form part of my signature, although it does appear on my bank card.
You can change your name to whatever you like anyway. My mum has been married twice and after the second divorce went back to using her first married surname, not her maiden name.
Having never been in your situation, I may be talking rubbish
but, I believe you'll be fine. 0 -
Thanks. Hope it dosnt matter. I dont use my middle names unless they are specifically asked for.0
