These weren't here yesterday. (After germination question)
It never ceases to amaze me how plants can just suddenly erupt.
I checked the propagator yesterday afternoon and there was nothing there and today, I have big things sprouting.

Question is, how long can I leave them in the heated propagator before having to move them into pots?
We're due a cold spell here and there really isn't a suitable place to put them. The porch area where they are presently, gets very cold so I'm thinking it would be too cold to leave them there potted up?

Hi,
I usually take the lid ff the propogater once the seedlings are through to stop them damping off, then leave them til 2nd set of leaves are through before potting on. HTHSometimes not moving backwards is as much an achievement as moving forwards is on other times. (originally posted by kidcat)
It's only a bargain if you were going to buy it anyway!0 -
I'd take them out of the heated prop and leave them to grow.
A porch will be fine for most plants.0 -
I just put some Chili & tomato seeds in, and half an hour later it started to snow. It's weird thinking about growing warm weather plants at this time of year, isn't it?0
